Bacon update

Managed to find some frozen Danish bacon at the Santa Monica English pub shop. Combined with homemade Sheepherder bread this made for excellent bacon sarnies… nice. Sheepherder bread was first spotted on signs on the way to Mammoth advertising Erick Schat’s Bakery (nice name). Having no idea what it was we bought some at Ralphs and it was bloody good… so… a few googles later here is the recipe that worked pretty well in our bread machine (yes it is a bit middle-aged but in our defence all American bread is either disgustingly sweet, sliced stupidly thinly, or over $4 a loaf)
Cups to grams coming soon… 1.5 cups Hot water 1/4 cup Butter (probably why it tastes so good) 1/4 cup Sugar (could probably reduce this) 1 1/4 tsp Salt 10g Active dry yeast 4 3/4 Flour
Melt the butter in the hot water … then add the rest (keeping the yeast away from the liquid)… set machine to run overnight on white loaf program with 1.5lb setting… and Robert is the brother of your father…
