Geeklog

I have moved away from nucleus and the site now runs with geeklog. Nucleus is just a blogging tool, although a very good one, but geeklog is more powerful with the abilty to manipulate blocks, polls, users, groups and other stuff. Check back for more fascinating stuff… (cough) or login and add something of your own. Installation was pretty easy, and I installed all three sites in the same database using a handy prefix option. Integration of gallery was also a lot easier than nucleus and the cvs version of gallery has built in gallery integration. Moving the stories into geeklog was a bit of a nightmare… but I learnt a lot about SQL and phpmyadmin in the process. Other options I looked at were phpNuke, phpWebsite, postNuke, and a few others… try opensourcecms.com for interactive demos of each system.
